june outing/bbq weekend

june outing will be an overnight event and fished over saturday and sunday 20/21st.meeting at ashers bakers(opposite tescos),aviemore at 8am saturday morning.
we plan a bbq on saturday evening,stop fishing at an agreed time have a bit food,banter and a beer.i have a loan of a big gas bbq which i can take in the van,andy grant(butcher)has kindly got his firm to supply the steaks,robbie milne(gamekeeper)will hopefully get some vension or game.micky jones groundworks have donated a couple slabs of beer and any body else wants to bring anything along let rab or myself know(so we dont end up with heaps of rolls and no sausages or vice versa)

back on summer rules

just a wee reminder that were back onto summer rules for club outings,2 bait rods and/or lure/fly rod.

new PAC general secretary

A special mention and well done to Graham Slater on stepping up and taking on the role of PAC general secretary,Graham is an outwith member of our club and we hope to meet and fish with him in the near future once he's settled in after his move to scotland.on behalf of R.A.74 we wish Graham every success in his new role.

At satursdays pac A.G.M most of the committee roles were passed on for the next 3 year term,so i would like to take the opportunity to thank the out going commitee and welcome the new commitee and wish them all every success in the future.

And of coarse there was the winter raffle draw also,and our very own Rab Hay was amongst the names of runners up.so theres a prize on its way in the next couple of weeks,well done Rab.

JUNE MEETING/VENUE CHANGE

The next meeting will be on tuesday 2nd of june 8pm at THE CHIEFTAIN HOTEL,2 millburn road,inverness,IV2 3PS.
(after years of meeting in the lounge of the clachnaharry inn,the new regime made us feel less than welcome last night so the decision was made to seek a new and more welcoming venue)

this months outing will be on sunday 17th or sunday 24th.meeting at 8 am at the paper shop in drum(for those not sure where the paper shop is,its just on your right handside once you come off the tight bend coming into the village,reason for this is it opens at 6.30am and does coffee etc rather than waste valuable fishing time waiting for the spar to open as we have done on many occasions)

due to 2 unknown persons using the club boat on Easter Sunday,the combination codes on the padlocks have been changed and only paid up members will be given the new code,if you intend using the boat in the near future give Rab or Ewen a ring for the new code.
the new code is for members only and must not be given out to anybody else.
outwith members wishing to use the boat contact Ewen or Rab for availability.
on returning boat to mooring please ensure it is clean and tidy,correctly covered and the back(stern)tag line is attached and secure.

new p.b for robbie on the fly

a big well done to Robbie Milne on smashing his fly caught p.b with this crackering 20lb+ fish caught down at chew valley lake,bristol on a pike fly fishing association event.robbie started the weekend on a flyer(pardon the pun),with his first english caught fish at 9lbs then a 20lbr soon followed by a 16.08lbr all within the first hour an a half,a great result and a great weekend oh and i blanked.

unbelievable,but robbie and george still landed fish.

PRESENTATION NIGHT SUCCESS

A big thanks to all members,family and friends who came along to our second presentation night at the fairways complex inverness,a real good night was had by all and the positive feedback since has been very welcome.

A special mention and thanks to Rab Hay who puts a lot of time and effort into making these nights happen,arranging the venue,buffet and disco for our enjoyment.

Again another super raffle with some quality prizes up for grabs,many thanks to all that donated prizes and to David Traill the owner of Grahams tackle shop,who took the time to come and meet us and also donated a superb rod bag for our raffle.
