another great open

thanks to all who attended our open yesterday,the weather was dire and the fishing not much better but all 33 anglers seemed very upbeat after the prize giving and raffle and enjoyed there day.and the camera crew never put any body off,look forward to seeing the dvd in the future.

a big thanks to rab and ewen who put in a lot of hard work to make these days happen and run smoothly,but we did manage to raise a few pound towards the club funds and a promise of a donation from readers digest towards our presentation night.again many thanks to the lovat arms for making us so welcome and use of their facilitys for the raffle etc.

twenty club at last

well done to ian hopkins on his first twenty at 22.08lb but just to confirm he's in the twenty club soon after landed another at 21.04lbs as well as a mid double,great result.

THE ANNUAL PAC CONVENTION

guys,just to let you know,that sandy down in bellshill is running a mini bus down to the pac convention at stoneleigh,warwickshire.we are hoping to fill the mini bus with members from inverness,north lanarkshire and ayrshire regions,the bus will cost £15 return and leaves bellshill at midnight friday 26th september,drive down through the night then spend the day and returning once convention ends.
any one wanting to go please let me know asap so a seat can be booked on bus and place in the car for a lift down to bellshill?
there is some top speakers lined up,lots of trade tackle stalls,second hand stalls.pac mega raffle,awards,competition winners and the live menteith draw and if thats not enough theres a well stocked bar.the crack will be first class so hope to hear from you soon?

well done to club secretary Ewen Lyon who increased his p.b to 21.04lbs on todays outing,as well as another 4 fish coming in a busy couple hours,superb days fishing.

well done to allan stewart who continues his fine run of form with a new p.b of 22.06lb as well as others on todays outing,george cassels also added to his tally of twentys with a fine fish of 21.04lbs.Well done to both of you.
we had a good turn out with 11 members (old and new)fishing today and lots being caught,a good day all round.

regional fish in winner

well done to allan stewart who not only got a p.b on the fly but also the heaviest fish of the weekend at 14lb07oz and wins a okuma reel worth £50 courtesy of the glasgow angling centre.

due to holiday season and what not the turn out was poor with only 3 members from inverness,8 members from north lanarkshire and no ayrshire boys but its a start and we hope next year to get an event later in the year and who knows maybe get a scottish regional championship up and runing in the future?

AUGUST OUTING

august outings will be on the sundays 24th or 31st,meeting up at the mountain cafe,aviemore at 8am.
(this venue is £10 a day to fish which the club will pay half,so members fishing pay for the £10 ticket on the day and rab will reimburse £5 at the next meeting)

scottish regional fishing

guys just a wee reminder that theres a get together on the 16/17 august down on loch venacher between members from ayrshire ra52,north lanarkshire ra93 and inverness ra74,we have been given reduced rates for boats and bank fishing from mark at the loch.were not sure how many will turn up for the weekend or a day(if thats all thats possible)but hope to get good crack and a bit of fishing and i hear rumours of a bbq and some beers to give it the social feel.and sandys been talking to glasgow angling centre to see if they will put up some prizes?
we hope this may turn into a annual fixture on our clubs calendars in the future and a possible scottish regional championship?
HOPE some us can make it down.

well thats me back after my week in the sun,had a great time fishing with the odd beer for good measure,as well as the pike fishing also got a couple of barbel but no luck chasing the bass or black bass.will sort a link to spanish safaris web site if any one fancys a crack at it next year must add its well worth the trip.(now back to blog land)
