scottish regional fishing

guys just a wee reminder that theres a get together on the 16/17 august down on loch venacher between members from ayrshire ra52,north lanarkshire ra93 and inverness ra74,we have been given reduced rates for boats and bank fishing from mark at the loch.were not sure how many will turn up for the weekend or a day(if thats all thats possible)but hope to get good crack and a bit of fishing and i hear rumours of a bbq and some beers to give it the social feel.and sandys been talking to glasgow angling centre to see if they will put up some prizes?
we hope this may turn into a annual fixture on our clubs calendars in the future and a possible scottish regional championship?
HOPE some us can make it down.

spanish safaris

well thats me back after my week in the sun,had a great time fishing with the odd beer for good measure,as well as the pike fishing also got a couple of barbel but no luck chasing the bass or black bass.will sort a link to spanish safaris web site if any one fancys a crack at it next year must add its well worth the trip.(now back to blog land)

another p.b for kev

well done to kev stewart on his new p.b of 19lb+,this is kevs third p.b in as many weeks along with enjoying some superb sport with lots of fish being caught and returned lately, hopefully this current run of good form will continue when fishing club outings and you wont fall victim of the club curse(ha ha)

JUNE OUTING

this months outing dates are a bit more scattered than normal due to various circumstances and a open comp landing on the same date as our planed second trip,so dates have had a wee shuffle to let members wanting to fish the open comp do so without losing a chance to fish outing?
sunday 15th june(myself,robbie and hopefully a couple others are fishing this date)
sunday 22nd june(mathew,allan,hairy and hopefully a few others will make this date?)
saturday 28th june(rab and anyone else that never made the first dates will make it?)
hopefully these dates will suit holidays,work patterns etc,meet at DRUM TAKEAWAY 8am all dates,fish till 5pm.

this months outing is an overniter,saturday 24 and sunday 25th,we are meeting at the mountain cafe,aviemore at 8am saturday morning and taking it from there,lets hope for a good turn out with a few new faces too?this is a points counter and both days are included.

fly on mentieth

would like to thank dave macfluff and the p.f.f.a for giving robbie and myself the opportunitie to fish the lake of mentieth for pike on the fly,the first time ever the fisherie has let pike flyfishers on the lake,so a wee bit of history in the making.we never bagged any monsters but had great sport with the jacks.great sport,great banter with some great guys.

allan wins the open

well done to club member allan stewart who took first place in the inverness open comp today with this fine fish and new p.b of 20.12lbs(superb mate!)allan also had a fish of 4lbs.second place went to club member george cassles with fish of 13.01lbs and 5lbs and third place to comp newcomer kevin stewart with a fish of 1.9lbs.
a big thanks to all that turned up on the day,the staff at the lovart arms and all the club members that donated prizes for the raffle and gave up time to run the event.
i would like to think another successfull day with 5 possible new members.hope every one enjoyed themselfs and see you all at the next one.

rab hay adds to his tally of twentys and also a new p.b. with a superb fish of 20.06lbs.this came in a superb day which saw rab and ewen land and safely return 7 fish each,well done lads.more ammo for the club mag

yet another p.b

a cracking 24.01lbs,what a superb weekend,we will do a wee article for club mag just to fill you guys in on the crack.

new p.b for rab on the fluff

club chairman and r.o. rab hay improved his p.b on the fly to just over 10lbs on a fly he tied himself,a big well done rab.
this comes after a superb weekend rab and myself had,with rab landinding 13 fish from 7.07lbs to 19.08 lbs.at least 9 of these fish came between 4.30 am and 8.30 am,so very little sleep for us.
myself,i managed 7 fish with one being a new p.b of 24.01.
one of the best fishing sessions we have had with just over 233lbs of fish landed and safely returned between us.

what a day

a new p.b for me at 22.8lbs,as well as fish of 18.9lbs,17.3lbs and 8.3 lbs.julie also got her new p.b of 9.8lbs.superb day.
