There has been many reports of illegal fishing across the highlands, many of which have been ignored, with hundreds of pike being taken for the pot. We are pleased to announce that the Water Balliffs from the Cromarty Firth Fishery Board have taken steps to prosecute anyone caught illegal fishing.
Anglers have already been caught on one local loch and sucessfully prosecuted, therefore the Board are now stepping up their efforts to halt these illegal activities. As well as raising local awareness they are now mounting patrols to catch offenders on all lochs/rivers across the highlands.
Should anyone witness any illegal fishing please contact Edward Rush, Head Balliff by phone on 07769 261657 or on their dedicated email address for illegal fishing - cffbillegalfishing@gmail.com
Please report any suspicious activity including sightings of nets, set lines or plastic drinks bottles floating in the water, which are used as floats with baits suspended underneath.
Together we can rid the highlands of this menace.
All reports will be treated in confidence.
